Welcome to the part I can’t always post online.
TrevsBadContent wasn't a smart marketing decision
Beginnings are hard.
You probably know me from TikTok where I’ve been documenting the chaos of trying to take back a home, navigate CPS reports, fight property manager negligence, and survive the financial and emotional mess that comes with it.
But TikTok isn’t built for full stories. And I’m not built for sales funnels or pretending this isn’t a disaster.
So I made this Substack to have a place for the things I can’t always fit into a video.
Why this, why now
I never planned to build a “channel.” I started sharing because I needed to vent, and wanted to share a disaster with anyone willing to look. But over time, something strange happened - people started following. Wishing they could help. Asking for updates. Sending advice. Offering legal referrals.
And it made me realize that there’s a whole community out there trying to survive systems that aren’t built for them either.
This Substack is here so I can start organizing some of that chaos. To give the updates I can’t explain in 90 seconds more context. To tell you what’s happening (hopefully) before it becomes a full crisis. And to build a record - in my words - while I still remember everything clearly.
What will this space be?
There’s no neat niche here. I’ve been documenting:
Tenant damage and property restoration
DIY Tips
CPS and legal reporting
Property management negligence and shell companies
Insurance obstruction and financial survival
Plus all the receipts, repairs, research, and aftermath
Sometimes I’ll go deeper into things I’ve already posted about. Sometimes I’ll write things I don’t feel comfortable posting on TikTok at all. And sometimes I’ll just drop an update for those who want to follow along without needing to rewatch three-minute videos twice a day.
No spam, no soulless product pushes, no bullshit.
How to support this work
This Substack will always have free posts. Just hit subscribe if you want to keep getting updates. The major updates, the big turning points, and anything I think everyone should have access to they’ll stay free.
But I’ve also enabled paid subscriptions for those who want to support this work directly.
If you subscribe, you’ll occasionally get:
Deeper receipts and breakdowns
Legal timelines or behind-the-scenes process
Personal or more emotional posts that don’t belong on the public internet
Anything that real time and serious effort to write but feels important to share
This isn’t a paywall strategy. It’s a survival one.
Other ways to support
If you don’t want to subscribe, that’s fine — really.
But if you do want to help:
Following me on TikTok still helps more than you’d think. I’m under 3,000 followers and TikTok doesn’t unlock monetization until 10k.
I have TikTok Shop access, but I refuse to push garbage products. If I ever promote something, it’s because I use it myself. (The amount of makeup spam I get is absurd.)
I also have an Amazon storefront with tools and supplies I’ve actually used. It doesn’t cost you anything extra to shop through it, but it helps me a little.
If I recommend something, it’s because I believe you’ll be glad you bought it.
I’m still figuring out how to build options for support that don’t feel gross and don’t punish the people who can’t afford to pay.
People seem to care about what’s going on in my life, so I’m doing my best to make it easy to stay involved while juggling a thousand fires.
What comes next
No promises on posting schedules I’m still in the thick of it and it's not letting up.
But if you want the story behind the chaos, the full timeline, or just a slower space to catch up, you’re in the right place.
Thanks for showing up.
